The tours sounds like a bit of a nightmare, but the ruins at Chichen Itza look spectacular! I especially love the skulls carvings on the walls – they are so cool!

p.s. if you did it again, would you go for the private tour, or would you such it up and go with the cheaper option?

Chichen Itza has been on my bucket list for so long! And I totally get your experience with a mass, organised tour.. I always try to organise it myself and have the freedom but sometimes it’s not possible I guess. Thanks for sharing this is a great post! 🙂 x

Organised tours can be so hit and miss. They’re often the most efficient way of getting to a place though. I remember an organised tour in Chiapas, Mexico. We spent all day sitting at the back of a mini bus on terrible roads with violent speed bumps! I hardly remember seeing the waterfalls or ruins, just the bus and those speed bumps!

Love Chichen Itza but we had done a day trip from Cozumel and the tour only gave us less than an hour there. Not nearly enough time!
